Hyperhidrosis

Excessive sweating can be extremely uncomfortable, unsightly and embarrassing. Primary hyperhidrosis refers to excessive sweating that is not caused by any another medical condition, nor is it a side effect of medications. Primary hyperhidrosis is a medical condition that responds well to Botulinum Toxin injections. The most common areas affected are the under arms and the palms of the hands.

Hyperhidrosis

Traditionally, treatment involved topical ant perspirant preparations which were often more irritant than effective. Botulinum toxin injections are a very successful alternative treatment that works by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands, this stops the production of sweat. Many describe their results as “turning off a tap”. After an in-depth consultation and assessment an individual treatment plan will be developed.

Results are reached over a two-week period and typically last 6 to 9 months.
